MILLENNIUM ENGINEERING AND INTEGRATION COMPANY ADDS DENNIS SMITH TO HUNTSVILLE TEAM

Huntsville, Alabama - Millennium Engineering and Integration Company (MEI) is pleased to announce the addition of Dennis E. Smith to its executive leadership team as Director for Civil Space Programs.

Mr. Smith brings over 22 years of engineering, management, and corporate development experience in private and public sectors. He has held senior management positions with CFD Research Corporation, National Aeronautics and Space Administration (NASA), the White House, and Martin Marietta Corporation (now Lockheed Martin). Mr. Smith, a community leader, has spent his entire career working in the Space industry. He has resided and worked in North Alabama since 1990 and was NASA's Program Manager for the Orbital Space Plane and Space Launch Initiative Programs with a multi-year budget of over $2 billion.

Prior to joining NASA in 1985, Mr. Smith served in the White House Office of Management and Budget and was responsible for developing and analyzing major policy, budget and management issues related to NASA's Space Shuttle, Space Station, Aeronautics, Science, and Space Transportation Technology programs. Earlier Dennis spent ten years with Martin Marietta Corporation in Denver, Colorado and Huntsville. Dennis worked on numerous Defense and Civil programs as a senior propulsion engineer, project manager and business development leader.

Dennis has received several awards and commendations including the Presidential Rank of Meritorious Federal Service, selection into the Senior Executive Service in 2000, the NASA medal for Outstanding Leadership in 2001, and the NASA Medal for Exceptional Achievement in 2002. “Adding Dennis’ Systems Engineering and Program Management expertise provides a critical foundation for MEI to leverage our excellent engineering services capability into Space markets“, said Kerry Wisnosky, President and CEO of MEI.
