Millennium Wins Multi-Sensor Development Effort
Millennium Engineering & Integration (Millennium) Company was awarded a follow-on effort under sponsorship of the U.S. Army Space and Missile Defense Command to support the design, engineering, and integration of an infrared, multi-spectral sensor that will be used to detect anomalous, potentially lethal, objects on humans or embedded in other mediums. The initial multi-sensor design includes multiple, high-resolution sensors and it will accommodate future sensor upgrades that will exploit promising active interrogation techniques. Field testing and system demonstration is scheduled for this summer, where Millennium engineers will perform threat assessments with simulated explosive vests.
“Millennium has over thirteen years experience in supporting the government in development and testing of advanced sensor concepts for a variety of applications. This is another great example of the government’s trust in the quality of our engineering support services. The applications of this technology are far reaching – from detecting IEDs, to biometrics, to food inspection. We are proud to be supporting the government in their efforts to prove this technology,” said Kerry Wisnosky, CEO.
