MEI AWARDED MAJOR NASA CONTRACT TO PROVIDE
MECHANICAL SYSTEMS ENGINEERING SERVICES FOR THE
GODDARD SPACE FLIGHT CENTER

Greenbelt, Maryland - The Goddard Space Flight Center Mechanical Systems Engineering Services (MSES) II/B contract was awarded on January 30, 2007 to the team of Bastion Technologies, Inc. (Bastion), Millennium Engineering and Integration (MEI), and Orbital Sciences Corporation/Technical Services Division (TSD). Under this multi-year contract, MEI engineers together with Bastion and OSC will provide mechanical engineering support services for the study, design, development, fabrication, integration, testing, verification, and operations of space flight, airborne, and ground system hardware and software, including developing and validating new technologies to enable future space and science missions.

MEI will provide the MSES II/B contract with technical capability in composites, contamination, sensors, detectors, and research and technology. MEI's will also provide NASA Goddard with our other core competencies in systems engineering; hardware integration and test; sensors;test and evaluation; software engineering and simulation; and program engineering management. The prime contractor for this award, Bastion Technologies is known for designing, developing, testing, manufacturing, and integrating autonomous robotic systems, environmental control and life support equipment, active thermal control systems equipment. Bastion’s other teaming partner, Orbital TSD, supplies services to GSFC and other major NASA Centers with experience covering full life cycle space flight hardware from early concept development through final fabrication, integration, and operation.
