MILLENNIUM WINS SBIR PHASE II THERMAL BATTERY CONTRACT
Millennium Engineering and Integration Company (Millennium) has been awarded a Small Business Innovative Research (SBIR) Phase II contract sponsored by the United States Naval Sea Command (NAVSEA). The contract is a 30 month effort that will develop thermal batteries for the U.S. Navy that will operate at lower temperatures, longer durations and higher voltages per cell than existing thermal batteries.
MEI will use its patent pending technologies in low melting thermal battery electrolytes to help increase the capabilities of missiles and munitions that are critical to the defense of U.S. and allied naval forces.
"We are very pleased to be awarded this contract for our advanced thermal battery development. This award is a testament to MEI's advancement of leading edge technologies in both military and civilian arenas." said Kerry Wisnosky, Chief Executive Officer of Millennium Engineering.
