Video Tracking Software Engineer

MEI is seeking a video tracking software engineer to support the development of a multi-sensor imaging testbed. Responsibilities include design of custom focal plane array signal processing algorithms, real time and post-processing algorithms, camera windowing control methods, developing special drivers and test software to support lab test activities, and image processing algorithms.

The candidate will derive region of interest (ROI) track solutions for objects (people, vehicles, etc) in complex urban environments using multiple imaging sensor input. The candidate will also develop a GUI-based user interface and data management/archival environment. The testbed will operate in the visible, SWIR, and LWIR with a variety of filter configurations. Track/aimpoint solutions will be derived from ROI and fed to an active designator via a fast beam steering technology.

Requirements:

  • Strong background in control theory and 3+ years experience developing software for real-time machine control such as a video camera and multi-axis motion platform.
  • Software development experience must include a minimum of 3 years C++ and within a real-time (LINUX?) processing environment.
  • Real-time image processing experience on digitized video is also required.
  • Additional experience in graphics presentation and real time device drivers on multiple platforms is highly desirable.
  • Excellent team working skills, as well as oral and written communication skills are also required.

Education:
Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Mathematics, Physics, or Engineering
