KI Payload Engineer
Job Description:
This position will support the Missile Defense Agency’s Kinetic Energy Interceptor Program Office (MDA/ KI) Interceptor Integrated Product Team (IPT). The Payload Engineer will interface with the KEI Prime Contractor and sub-contractors, as well as MDA Elements and organizations.
The successful candidate will execute tasking required to support design, development, testing of a payload that will integrate with a Kinetic Boost Vehicle (KBV). The candidate will actively participate in the detailed system engineering, development, and testing of multiple kill vehicle payloads. Payload engineering responsibilities will include; support design trades and analysis, mechanical and electrical interfaces definition, specification development, integrated test planning, system engineering process integration, and programmatic alignment. The candidate will be required to provide technical and programmatic interface to other Missile Defense Agency programs and functional areas. The candidate will be responsible for the development and presentation of technical materials/ briefings to internal and external agencies.
Requirements:
BS (MS Preferred) in Aerospace, Electrical, Mechanical or System Engineering
15 to 20 years experience in missile systems engineering, payload design, development, and testing
Must be able to execute technical and programmatic tasks as directed with minimal supervision
Must exhibit superior communications, team, and problem solving skills in a dynamic, quick reaction environment
